Vance Boelter, a 57-year-old man, is now in custody after police say he shot two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses early Saturday morning. The victims were Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, who died at their home in Brooklyn Park. State Senator John Hoffman and his wife were also shot in Champlin but survived and are recovering after surgery￼. Authorities say Boelter disguised himself as a police officer and even engaged in a brief shootout with officers before running away.

After searching for more than a day, law enforcement found Boelter near his home in Green Isle, Minnesota, and arrested him late Sunday evening. The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office called him “the face of evil” and thanked all the police agencies and local residents who helped in the manhunt.

On the subject of his political leanings, CBS [posted on X](https://x.com/cbsnews/status/1934430720644018606?s=46) that a former roommate of his called him a Trump supporter and that he would be offended if he was called a Democrat.

This case is crazy I just saw the press conference. So, after police found the first couple shot (politician and their spouse), an officer on the scene wanted to send other officers to a politician that lived nearby. As the officers arrived at the second location, a “police officer” was leaving the house. When the officers confronted the “officer” leaving the house, the suspect then immediately began firing at them and retreated back into the house. At some point, the suspect escaped the house through the back of the house, and is currently still at large. The police have formed a perimeter and are searching for the suspect.

The suspect was dressed in a complete uniform of a law enforcement officer, with a black tactical vest, taser, weapon (obviously), etc. The suspect also had a SUV that looked identical to a police vehicle, including having lights. A “manifest” was found in the vehicle, with names of other politicians.

In California ICE and other individuals claiming to be law enforcement officers, do not wear any identifying uniforms or badges, are often masked, and do not present badges before handcuffing and taking people away. A major concern in California, is someone perpetrating being an officer and just simply kidnaps someone, with their face covered, no identifying clothing or badges, pretending to be a LEO.

For the conservatives astroturfing this thread: I understand this is a very, very difficult concept for your tiny brains to understand, but not every appointment to every board and advisory committee is done for nakedly partisan reasons.
